With both of his Grand dams sporting beautiful true black fleeces, we weren't surprised when this little male was born with dense, lustrous black fiber. He has grown up well, and we are pleased to now offer him for sale as a junior herdsire that we can be proud of in representing the quality of the Alpaca Hacienda's breeding program.
Morocco's sire is Crescent Moon's Crown Royal, our multi-award winning herdsire who is of the Caligula line. From his sire, Morocco has inherited strong bone, square conformation, extreme density and beautiful head. His dam, LKR Zoddie, is a two-time color champion herself, and contributed to Morocco's fleece, stature and gentle nature. Morocco was not extensively shown, but we were very proud of his first place winning as a juvenile at the extremely competitive International Alpaca Odyssey, 2008. He went on to place well in several more shows, the last one being The California Classic, 2011, where Morocco took 2nd Place, standing as the oldest male in the class at just under 4 years of age.
We were originally hesitant to offer Morocco as a breeder as we felt his 2nd and 3rd histograms were a bit strong in micron, although we are well aware that dark fleeces tend to run heavier in micron overall. We have adjusted our feeding program in this past year, and are hopeful that a slightly lower protein supplement will bring Morocco's fiber more in line with what we would like to see for a black alpaca at his age. We feel that he brings so much to the table with his other wonderful qualities he should be used as a breeding male, and we would love to get him working. He has extreme density, bold crimp, long staple, beautiful head type, strong bone, lovely conformation, great leg coverage, fabulous pedigree...need we say more? Let Morocco bring great things to your breeding program at a price that really can't be beat.
